SPLIT Program

What is the SPLIT Program?

The SPLIT Program aims to improve the quality, clinical outcomes and cost-effectiveness of care provided to individuals with low back pain who seek primary healthcare, through the implementation of an interdisciplinary model for the stratified treatment of low back pain.

SPLIT was developed by a group of researchers and clinicians from the Superior Health School of the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal (ESS-IPS), NOVA Medical School of the NOVA University of Lisbon (NMS-UNL) and the Regional Health Administration of Lisbon and Tagus Valley, through the Arrábida Health Center Group. This project was co-financed by the Lisbon Regional Operational Program, in the ERDF component, and by the Foundation for Science & Technology, in the national component – OE.

What is the relationship between the SPLIT Program and the Myback Project?

Patients who, at the end of the SPLIT Program, do not have low back pain (or a maximum of 1 point on the 0-10 Numerical Pain Scale), will be invited to join the Myback Project.
